What's covered

Squads and formations from the 2024-25 Champions League group stage and knockouts. That means Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Inter, PSG, Atletico, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, and the smaller sides who pulled off the surprises this season.

You'll see lineups managers actually fielded in big games, not generic squad shapes. The Real Madrid quarter-final XI. The City pressing setup against Bayern. The Inter back three that bullied Atalanta in the round of 16.

The hard ones to spot

A few formations in this pack will trip you up. Watch for:

• Inverted fullbacks playing in midfield. City did this most of the season. Walker and Akanji would tuck inside next to Rodri.
• False nines in big matches. Arsenal used Trossard and Havertz in this role at different points.
• Back threes that morph into back fives when defending. PSG and Bayern both used this against stronger opposition.

How to spend your hints

The nationality hint is usually the giveaway. If you see a Brazilian center forward in a 2024-25 lineup, the candidates narrow fast. The era hint is wasted on this pack since every lineup is the same season. Save your diamonds for nationality and formation hints.

Replay value

Your best score is the one that counts. Most players need three or four attempts to clean it up. The formations stay the same but the order shuffles, so you can't just memorize a sequence. You have to actually learn to read the pitch.
